RIDING YOUR SAPPHIRE
TURNING ON/OFF THE BOARD
  • Simply roll the board forward, or push it off the ground as if you were riding a normal skateboard. 
  • The board will have a small beep to indicate that it is on. 
  • The board will automatically turn off after 5 minutes of inactivity.
RIDING THE BOARD
  • Ensure that both the board and the remote are on
  • Push forward on the thumbwheel of the remote to accelerate and pull back to engage the brakes
REMOTE
Machine With Scroll Machine
  • To turn on the remote, press the power button for 3 seconds to turn it on, and  the display will light up.
  • To turn off the remote, press the power button for 3 seconds. The remote will automatically turn off/timeout after being disconnected from the board for 30+ seconds.
  •  Push the scroll wheel forward to accelerate the skateboard forward (logo side is the front). Pull the scroll wheel backwards to engage the brake.
  • To toggle the speed setting, press the reverse/function button. To toggle the brake strength, hold the scroll wheel down in the braking position then press the reverse/function button., Both the speed and brake show the readings: LO for low, MI for medium, HI for high, Pro for Pro Sport Mode or Very High.
  • To toggle between forward and reverse, when the board is on, quickly double press the reverse/function button. The board’s direction reading will switch from FW to BW.
  • The remote control is charged with Micro USB. After the remote control is connected and charged, the remote control “RM” icon indicates the remote control charging level.
  • The board’s battery life section has 4 segments showing various charge levels. 4 segments equals full charge, 3 segments equals 75% to 50%, 2 segments equals 25% to 10%, 1 segment equals 10% to 25%. When the battery is below 10% the final segment will flash and the remote control will vibrate twice.
  • The remote battery life section has 4 segments showing various charge levels. 4 segments equals full charge, 3 segments equals 75% to 50%, 2 segments equals 25% to 10%, 1 segment equals 10% to 25%. For safety purposes, if the remote has less than 5% of battery remaining, the remote can’t accelerate, only brake.
  • When the battery level of the remote control is lower than 5%, the remote will disable acceleration to prevent the rider from losing all braking power while at high speed. Pulling the scroll wheel backwards the board will brake as normal.
  • Note: When the power of the remote control is lower than 5%, it’s recommended the user stop using the remote and to charge the remote again before next use.  Continuance of using the remote past this point can result in damage to the lithium battery.
  • To switch between the metric and standard units of measurement (MPH or KPH), when the remote control is turned off, press the “power button” and the “reverse/ function” button simultaneously to display the menu interface. Press the “reverse/function” button to move up and down the menu options, and move the wave wheel to toggle between options
  •  If the bluetooth signal is lost, and the remote control is accelerating, the board will automatically stop accelerating, and the motor(s) will coast freely. When the board is in the braking state, and the signal is lost, the board will continue to brake for 1 full second, If the signal is lost for more than 1 second, the brake will cease to be connected and the skateboard will be free-rolling.
  • If  you change wheel sizes, the speed display will need to be adjusted because  the length of the wheels’ circumference has been altered. When the remote control is turned off, press and hold the “power button”and the “reverse/function” button to display the menu interface. Press the “reverse/function” button to move up and down the menu options to “WHEEL SPEED: 64.” The number of 64 is the preset for the factory wheels. The larger the wheel used, the larger the number needed; the smaller the wheel size, the smaller the number needed. The scroll wheel adjusts the size of the number.
  • Vibration tips: The remote will vibrate once when pressing the power button, vibrate once by pressing the function/reverse button, and when the board battery is less than 10% it will vibrate twice
  • While accelerating, quick press the power button, this sets the cruise to the current speed and you will see CRU appear on screen.  To exit cruise control accelerate, break, or press power again. 
  • Instructions for pairing a new Sapphire Board remote come with the replacement remote ordered from gastongear.com.
UPGRADE //  REPLACE // REMOVE
  • Nearly all components on the Sapphire are designed to be modular and upgradeable. 
GRIPTAPE PLATE 
  • Unscrew the machine bolts that hold the plate to the board and carefully remove it from the board with a flat head tool.
  • Repeat the process in reverse to install the plate.
  • Note: the sensor plate is not symmetrical, so the crews will only align in one orientation.
BATTERY
  • Once the sensor plate is removed, the battery can be removed by unplugging the connectors.
WHEELS / MOTOR RUBBER
  • To replace the motor PU rubber, remove the machine screws on the outside of the motor and remove the plate. The rubber should slide off for you to replace. 
  • Repeat the process in reverse to install a new set of PU rubber tires.
  • Front wheels can be removed with the included skate tool by unfastening the nuts on the truck hangar axle.
